#RiseForPalestine Updated Toolkit

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) has been around for as long as Israel has occupied the land of Palestine. For 75 years and counting, UDHR’s promise that all humans are “born free and equal in dignity and rights” has yet to be experienced by the Palestinian people since the nakba of 1948. This year, we are commemorating the 75th year of International Human Rights Day (IHRD) amid a genocidal war against the Palestinian people.

Seven weeks into the siege, a temporary ceasefire was finally reached in agreement – a much-needed break for the war-torn Gaza. However, there are no signs that Israel will be ending its genocide. Now, more than ever, we need to rise in solidarity for the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people.

In the coming days leading to the December 10 International Human Rights Day, we continue our call to stop the genocide including the deliberate starving of the Palestinian people, and demand that Israel and its backer US be held accountable for their bombings, war crimes, and human rights violations in the 75 years of the occupation.

OUR ACTIONS

1) BE VOCAL ON-GROUND AND ONLINE! Proactively support Palestinian peoples’ right to return.

  • Slam Israel’s weaponization of starvation in its genocidal war.
  • Urge our governments to call for an end to the Israeli genocide. (Sample)
  • Call out unethical media coverage that enables the Zionist occupation. (Sample)
  • Hold protests at local US and EU embassies.
  • Boycott corporations complicit in the Israeli apartheid. (What to boycott)
  • Organize local activities that educate the public on the Palestinian struggle.

2) READ, SIGN, & SHARE! Urgent Appeal on the Palestinian Struggle for Liberation and Food Sovereignty

✊ For organizations: bit.ly/PalestineLiberationAndFoodSovereignty
✊ For individuals: change.org/PalestineLiberationAndFoodSovereignty

The Arab Network on Food Sovereignty (ANFS) and the PCFS are calling organizations to support this urgent appeal calling for immediate humanitarian assistance in Gaza and against the weaponization of food in war accordance with international law.

This was originally drafted by the ANFS in its capacity as the West Asia Constituency representative for the adoption of the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Mechanism (CSIPM) for relations with the UN Committee on World Food Security (CFS). However, because of lacking transparency, democracy, and honest solidarity in the platform’s processes, ANFS pulled out the statement and has decided to circulate it independently with the PCFS.

More than 100 organizations have endorsed our urgent appeal. Here is the complete list of signatories.
